2017 Pinot Noir, La Encantada
The famed La Encantada Vineyard, planted by Richard Sanford in 2000, produces wines that are the epitome of the Sta. Rita Hills. Balanced and refined, yet disarmingly powerful, the wines are always among the most loved in our cellar. In 2017 a small crop produced a wine loaded with personality. Ethereal aromas of rose hips, cranberry and strawberry waft from the glass. This medium bodied wine is notable for its interplay of freshness and structure. Scintillating acidity runs counterpoint to earthy flavors of clay, bright red plum, and white flowers. Experience shows that the impeccably balanced wines from this vineyard develop well in the bottle for several years.
